It is raining cats and dogs in the city, and walking in the rain without getting wet seems like an impossible thing. But not long ago, the Sharjah Art Foundation turned this "fantasy" into reality with the "Rain Room".
"Rain House" is an art installation that can rain heavily indoors. It was designed by Random International for 4 years and is a permanent exhibit of the Sharjah Art Foundation.
This "rain house" is really very interesting. When you approach it, you will hear the patter of rain. Walk along a corridor with a high ceiling, and you will enter a room with large space and dim light - this room has only one bright light. With it, you can record the "downpour" here with a camera.
This art work uses 1200 liters of self-cleaning and recycled water to produce downpour. The sensor will respond to human actions, and the place where people pass will be detected, and the "rain" will stop falling. The ground is composed of grids to facilitate the collection and recycling of rainwater and avoid the existence of ponding. Isn't it amazing?
Of course, you won't get wet if you walk slowly in the rain; If you really want to get caught in the rain, just walk faster!
The magic "Rain House" has been exhibited in London, New York, Shanghai and Guangzhou in China, and has been praised by art lovers. Now it has come to Sharjah, which naturally attracts the interest of visitors to Sharjah.
Unconsciously, the summer of the United Arab Emirates came. What can be more enjoyable than watching a downpour in a desert city in such a hot summer?
