South Africa is the most developed country on the continent, and by far the most cosmopolitan country in Africa, with a sophisticated tourism industry. You can taste good food and wine in the big cities and towns of South Africa, so today let's take a look at the classic food in South Africa!

Chakalaka

Chakalaka originates from the black towns of South Africa. Its ingredients are usually baked beans in tomato sauce, tomatoes, onions, and sometimes other ingredients are added, such as carrots, peppers, garlic, ginger and some spices (such as curry and broth powder), etc.

 Potjiekos

Potjiekos is a typical South African dish that uses a three-legged cast iron pot called "Potjie", which contains meat, potatoes, vegetables, spices and a small amount of alcohol, and the above ingredients are put into the pot in order and simmered for 3-6 hours. Potjiekos can be served with rice or pasta.

Biltong

Durban Chicken Curry

Bunny Chow

Bunny Chow is a South African fast food and a dish invented by Indians in Durban in the late 19th century. Peri peri chicken

Rooibos

Rooibos is a South African plant whose leaves are commonly used to make tea. Rooibos means red bush, referring to the appearance of the plant. rooibos is mainly used for making tea, iced tea, and even red espresso.
